One of my favorite 1-on-1 maps for Quake was Deathabilia by Mancer.
No health, no armor, no ammo.. just powerful weapons. If you
know you are going to die, hurt the other guy as much as possible
so he'll be an easy target when you respawn.
Quake 2 adds a new twist to this map. Loosing your opponent is
common but hearing the footsteps helps. I added some grenades
to add yet another level to the game.
This maps works best for 1-on-1 or 3 players. More than 4 is totally
insane.
